Aric Scott Russell, an outdoorsman, was found dead at home in Vancouver on Wednesday, May 19, 1999. He died of an abscess on the brain. He was 28.
Mr. Russell was born October 7, 1970, in Fort Ord, Calif.
A host and bartender, Mr. Russell was a member of the Royal Order of the Moose in Juneau, Alaska. He adored his dog, Beau.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Donna and Joe Gordon of Vancouver; his father, Brad Schmeets of Juneau; four brothers, Chip Schmeets of Bellingham, Chad Gordon of Phoenix, Jeff Gordon of Mesa, Ariz., and David Gordon of Milwaukie, Ore.; one sister, Beth Rogers of Richmond, Calif.; and grandmothers Helen Russell of Mesa and Dorothy Defebaugh of Colorado Springs, Colo.
A service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 1999 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to any children's charity
