Obituary from The Columbian, Vancouver, WA - September 12, 1999

Jennifer Lee Statczar, a sophomore at Prairie High School, died September 7, 1999, in a Portland hospital after she was hit by a car while walking in Vancouver. She was 16.

Miss Statczar was born July 13, 1983 in Missoula, Montana.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Theresa and Chris Neely of Vancouver; her father, Gene Statczar of Arlee, Montana; one brother, Robert Statczar of Vancouver; one stepbrother, Reece Neely of Milwaukie; one sister, Ashley Steele of Vancouver; her grandfather, Kenyon Gross of Deer Lodge, Montana; and her step-grandmother, Gloria Bunyard of Vancouver.

Miss Statczar loved horses, music and dancing. She liked writing poetry, playing video games and was a member of Junior ROTC.

A funeral will begin at 3 p.m. Monday, September 13, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. The casket will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Her body will be cremated after the funeral service.
