Samuel Melvin Ramsey, 35, died April 29, 2008, in Battle Ground.
Ramsey was born March 31, 1973, in Eugene, OR, and lived in Oregon until moving to Battle Ground three years ago.
Ramsey served in the Army National Guard in 1990, and in 2003-2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was medically retired in 2004.
Ramsey enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and trail riding in the Sisters, OR area.
Survivors include widow Holly Ramsey, of Battle Ground; sons, Samuel J. Ramsey and Cody Ray Ramsey, both of Battle Ground; father and step-mother Samuel J. Ramsey and Mary Ann Ramsey, of Battle Ground; mother and step-father Nancy and Mike Howell of Oregon; brothers Jon Spears of Washougal and Tony Ramsey of Amboy; sister Courtney Howell of Oregon; and grandparents John and Marilyn Cooper of Oregon.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 10 at noon at Manor Grange, NE 179th Street and NE 72nd Avenue, Vancouver, with Cascadia Cremation Services, Vancouver, in charge of arrangements.
